Pomegranate trees are grown all over India, whereas in westerns Himalayas ,Suleman hills Iran, and Afghanistan, it grows naturally. Based in it taste , 3 types of pomegranate varieties are found. These are sweet,sour, and sweet-sour. In case of pomegranate , not only fruit but the whole plant has rich medicinal values. The bud and the fruit greater medicinal value than fruit.

 

Appearance:

Its tree is 10-15 ft tall. The bark is smooth and dark brown in colour. Leaves are approximately 2-3 inch long and ½ to ¼ inch wide. Flowers are orange, blood red and some time yellow in clolour. They grow in individually and some times in bunches. Fruits are round and diameter of approximately 2 inch. The skin of the fruit is shiny , the inside of the fruit has multiple sections. Each section has multi-cornered seeds. The plant bears flowers in April- May and fruits in July- Oct.
